Breathe deeply…
posted by: admin in Uncategorized on 11 14th, 2005 | | No Comments »

Whew! Time to take a breath and breathe deeply as 5 days of Circle Craft is left in the dust…

I didn’t think it (CC 2005) would ever come and when it did… didn’t think it would ever end! Prepping took it’s toll with late late late nights and mad panicing about having enough product. Then set-up over two days and tear down in 2 hours! It was a busy busy week filled with art, shopping, friends and fans (you know who you are!!!) and more shopping.

It was great connecting with fellow stampers and even better getting NEW people excited about stamping. I firmly believe that EVERYONE is creative and that stamping is the perfect outlet for those who feel restricted artistically because they "can’t draw or paint". We’ve already done all the hard work for burgeoning artists in creating unique artistic stamps and papers… all newbie stampers need is the encouragement and instruction to get started =)

Img_1159Here is a pic taken with my art buddies from ARTwerx and the ’stamping world’.

You two always brighten our long, demo-filled days at Circle Craft and we (DH Terry and I) appreciate the fudge! Corrine (on left) the MUD PIE fudge looks wicked and Nancy the MOCHA JAVA fudge was a tasty treat this evening. Thanks girls…

And Lisa and Donna… thank you for the sustanance as well! We did trade the Banana Split fudge for SKOR BAR fudge and the nuts are almost gone =) Thank you… and we’ll hold your shopping bags anytime - for food of course!

And we can’t forget Sue… our dear friend and devoted ‘minion’ for her excellent cash register skills and deft way of getting out of the demoing. Hmm… she has yet to pick up a rubberstamp with the intention of using it for art. Usually it’s in hand to hurl at either me or Terry, whoever is harassing her the most LOL!

We truly appreciate your time and energy, and value the time we get for ‘hanging-out’ at CC. Having you in the booth is always an event highlight for us… but this year, we know YOUR highlight was the OTHER CC <Chelios> getting in that cab in front of the Pan Pacific =)

So publicly and once again… Thanks girl! We couldn’t do it without you, and it would seem wrong to even consider it a Circle Craft event if you’re not there. Hugs and love from us, C and T.

Long time Long update
posted by: admin in Uncategorized on 11 4th, 2005 | | No Comments »

Hmmm… let see what’s been going on in the last month:

  1. Turned 36 on October 5
  2. Went to Memory Trends in Las Vegas… good excuse for a trip to LV (as if we ever really NEED and excuse LOL!) met up with some friends who were exhibiting, met up with business associates, made some new contacts and finally put faces to emails and phonecalls. All in all a good and FAST trip.
  3. Ipod_3 Got back from LV and ordered my birthday present from hubby - the NEW Apple iPOD 5G Video. Its soooo cool… The video portion is nice, but takes up a lot of the battery life (gives about 2-3 hours of video play time - just enough for a DVD).
We ordered it from Apple.com and got free laser engraving on the back with my name and email on it…  It’s black and shiny and I love it =)
  4. Shipped all pre-ordered Scribble and Scratch rub-ons and started the prep for our next big event - Circle Craft Arts and Crafts show here in Vancouver (Nov 9-13). We are fast running out of time and space in our house to store all of our stock! Ugh… we have to reconfigure the basement/studio since it’s just NOT working right now for me creatively….
  5. Let’s see… taught two cool classes 1 - 4 hour Quiltlets class in North Vancouver and my favorite full-day "Art of Transference" class in Vancovuer at Ruby Dog’s Art House on Main Street and 32nd. This is by far the COOLEST store in Vancouver for mixed media artists… so much to choose from including vintage and industrial ephemera, cool books and magazines and wicked classes to boot. Check out the store and Leanne’s online business:
Collage Joy (online) Ruby Dog’s (storefront)

That’s just the tip of the berg so to speak… "Work" work for the City of Richmond has been crazy - major publications and presentation materials are been prepared and little time is left for play. It’s been a bit ‘wild’ here to say the least!

At the end of November, I’ll be heading off to Toronto ONT. for a week to teach a couple of art/scrap classes in Bolton Ontario at A Scrapbooker’s Dream (a huge 4000+ sq. ft store) and will to participate in my dear dear friend Carmi’s Christmas Craft show - 2nd Annual Holly Jolly Show. At Holly Jolly all my local Toronto fans <I say this jokingly!!> can come by and visit me, say hello and help move a large volume of UM rubberstamps off my hands! Here is the link to the event: 2nd Annual Holly Jolly.

Anyways… busy busy busy… Will post again soon! In the meantime hope everyone has a great weekend!

Orangevenezia We just wanted to remind and let everyone know that Lazar StudioWERX Inc. will be participating at the Annual Circle Craft Christmas Market at Canada Place in Vancouver from Wednesday Nov. 9 to Sunday Nov 13. This craft show hosts hundreds of vendors selling their products (ranging from weaving to woodturning, puppetry to pottery, jellies to jewellery and MORE!) directly to the public at this 5 day annual event.

As of July 1, 2005 our website changed from a retail / wholesale site to a primarily wholesale oriented website, with no more retail sales directly to the public. Blogging and ‘podcasting’ has become the fastest growing phenomenon in the digital world today.

As a techno-weenie <I say that in all seriousness! I LOVE gadgets and technie stuff - hence my new iPod!) I had to do some digging for the latest weird and wonderful stuff out there in the digital world we call the ‘Net. Here are some of my faves from the last week or so…

Chinese Back Dormitory Boys - Lipsyncing to the Back Street Boys - too funny!!!

Yoda Busts a Move - Bonus feature on new Star Wars III DVD

Yoda sings Britney Spears - this one is good!

More Back Dormitory Boyz - I love these guys, they’re so willing to humiliate themselves!

A few of my favorites this week… more next week I’m sure =) Enjoy and Happy Friday!!!
