I have a friend named Carmi
in Ontario who posts religiously to her blog - sometimes 2-3 times a
day (especially while she’s travelling and gushing about the sights and
sounds of Paris!) - I can only aspire to have that much stuff to say
about my own life LOL!.
On most days her posts are about the everyday
things that happen at home, in her studio and amongst her family… but
every once in a while she’ll hit us with a zinger about Musicals or
Napoleon - why she hates them (muscials) and why she loves him
(Napoleon).
Reading her daily musings are a refreshing, charming and
infinitely fun way to keep up with someone I consider to be one of my
best-girlfriends. It’s fun reading about her daily exploits, I get to
live vicariously in Paris , NYC and Florida when she travels and it’s
much easier to catch up on her comings and goings via her blog than it
is to get her on the phone! (She hates the dreaded telephone LOL!)
That said… I will try to live up to the standard of the
deep-thinking, heart felt bloggin’ she inspires. Here is a recent quote
from her blog that made me laugh out loud:
"Everywhere I looked I saw shades of green. The fruit trees are budding.
The magnolia tree might just have a big flowery explosion this week. I
even saw some green shoots in the wild flower beds.
Then I awake up today.
Dandelions.
Hundreds of them. Where did they come from? Was there a secret signal
to come out all at once? Why do weeds grow faster than perennials? If only I could learn to love them.
With all the new environmental issues, you hate to have to spray….but
nothing looks worse than a lawn covered in dandelions. It looks like we
don’t care. Most likely, we’ll mow them under….but I am sure that
will just encourage more and more of their relatives to come on out too." ~ April 27/06
Now… if you know my friend Carmi, you’ll know that her and hubby
Paul [King Paulie Paulie as I like to refer to him] dislike dandelions in their beautifully manicured lawn. After reading
that post, I could just imagine the irritated look on her face, her hands on
her firmly on her hips, as she glared at those ‘innocent’ little yellow
heads spreading like wild-fire.
When I read her her blog that day, on a day when everything had been going
WRONG for me, I can honestly say it brought a bubble of laughter
from me and genuine smile of glee… someone else was having as rotten
a day as me - even if it was only caused by an eruption of dandelions.
So answer me this question… If you read blogs like I read blogs [I sense a song in there somewhere LOL] who would you favorite blogger be and why? Please post your replies in the COMMENTS of this post… I’m looking forward to seeing your response =)
