The most amazing thing…
posted by: admin in odds n ends on 05 31st, 2007 | | 1 Comment »

Was poking around in the internet this morning [got into work EARLY because T is going to Seattle for the day] and stumbled across the most amazing thing… Photoshop Speed Painting! So cool…

Below is the mind blowing example I found on YouTube [you gotta love the ‘Tube!].

The video is 7 minutes long and basically covers 7+ HOURS of actual digital painting in PhotoshopCS2… All you digital, and traditional art geeks like me will love this. I was completely blown away. Enjoy!

Paper Artsy coming to studioWERX on Main…
posted by: admin in StudioWERX on 05 29th, 2007 | | No Comments »

PostageCool news! We’re bringing in the amazing Paper Artsy rubberstamp line to our studioWERX on Main store…

Paper Artsy is a funky, collage and mixed media oriented rubberstamp company from the UK that creates some of the most interesting and inspiring UM rubberstamps around. LOVE their designs and I’m so thrilled that we are able to bring them to Vancouver and our little store.

We expect the order to arrive in about two weeks… We’ll be stocking a variety of the 1/4 sheets and ATC sized minis, so watch for an announcement in your email and in the blog about when they are available for purchase.

Have a great day! How can you not when you live in Vancouver and it’s another gorgeous day in Lotus Land [aka Vancouver BC].

Paper Bag Studios now in store!
posted by: admin in StudioWERX on 05 28th, 2007 | | No Comments »

Hey all…
Mayloveweb2For our local peeps, just a quick note to say that the Paper Bag Studios UM rubberstamps are now in store at studioWERX on Main.
They were delivered today and are just awesome… I love them.

Also, we’ve begun to re-index all of our own line of UM stamps and have increased the index image size on the majority of our stamps to reflect their TRUE SIZE on the index sheet in each package. We’re pulling back on the logo and website content in order to more accurately reflect the size and etched scale of our UM single stamps. Why we did do this before? Who knows… LOL! Lesson learned.

Thanks… for watching =)

p.s. An arty post will be coming out in a few days with a tutorial and art project to stir those creative juices! In the meantime, check out our studioWERX Street Team blog for our latest DT Challenge!

has officially been chosen! Hurray!
Becky [our DT Leader] and I went through the dozens of applications and artwork submissions the were received, and we were pleasantly surprised at the incredible quality of artwork submitted. It made the decision process for picking the team tough, but I guess that is a good problem to have =)

We’re calling the designer’s group the ‘studioWERX Street Team‘ and have developed a new blog just for them! It will be a great place to…

  • see their inspiring Lazar StudioWERX based artwork
  • for the challenges the Team will initiate using a StudioWERX product(s)
  • each week a different Team member will post an RAK, art tips, or info about what inspires THEM - it will be so cool to see and learn about their individual styles, can’t wait!
  • see Team assignments and so much more…

We’ve been promising NEW stamps for the store over the last couple of weeks and the designs have finally been sent off for plating. We expect these new designs to be in store in the next 3 weeks - providing I don’t get sick again like I have been for the last week.

So… here is your sneak peek at some of the new, yummy rubberstamp goodness coming to studioWERX on Main and our online store in the coming weeks.  With the exception of the Words, Concentric Circles, Paint Splats and Vintage Sewing Design Sheets, all of the stamps shown will be sold as individual designs.

I’d love to hear what you think…

Quick health update…

Waterproof_digital_thermometer
Well… I’ve been house bound and pretty damn sick since last Saturday night. Nearly 7 days. geez…

The latest is that apparently I don’t have Strep Throat - that’s a good thing. I went to the Doc on Wednesday after 4 days of seriously BAD throat pain and they swabbed me for the strep bacteria. He prescribed antibiotics just in case the results were positive and to get a jump start on the infection, but now since it isn’t Strep, I can stop the meds - YAY!

Crummy thing is I still feel crappy. I haven’t had any semblance of a voice since Tuesday night. Been whispering at Terry, on the phone to my office, and the cats [which means they basically ignore everyword their catmama says to them like get off the counter, stop drinking my water, stop licking my throat lozenges] for three days now. My vocal chords started working again a little bit this evening, but I really have to force the words at a louder volume than normal and I sound like a cross between a honking goose and a teenage boy going through puberty. NICE.

Fever is gone but a runny, stuffy nose and coughing has taken it’s place giving me headaches and backpain caused by the exertion of coughing. I’m exhausted and apparently this viral thing that I have can take 3-4 weeks to clear up completely. Nice.

So… this weekend looks like a very very quiet one with me resting as much as possible and ‘trying’ to catch up on my now delayed order processing and shipping schedule in between recouperative naps.

To all my customers patiently waiting for orders… thank you for your patience.
To all my family and friends… thank you for your care and concern.
To my hubby… thank you for taking care of me, making me tea, buying me cough syrup and lozenges, and rubbing my back. Make room in the bed honey… [I’ve been sleeping in the spare room for 6 days, to spare T of my hacking, coughing, sweaty, wheezing sleepless nights] I’m coming back to it once this coughing settles down a bit and I can sleep through the night. You’ll have to start sharing again!

ok… so migraine has been better the last few days, but now i think i have strep throat. lovely.
it’s 3am, my throat feels like its on fire… has felt sore and painful when swallowing since saturday evening and if possible feels worse tonight/this morning. that’s why i’m up… no fever tonight, at least not like the last few days… just really awful pain swallowing even my own saliva. nice.

i’m going to go and get some cheese to have with that whine… but just thought i’d share why i haven’t been posting like a good blogging girl.
