169238e0636f15355be568f9db525517f_2 ok. i received the first run of my mixed media collage books.

it’s a limited first run to see how i’d like them, and you know what? it’s pretty damn cool seeing yourself in print, in a self-published book where YOU are the author.

so here are the details…

  • the books will be available exclusively online through my etsy shop
  • they will be available locally at my artshows in vancouver at portobello west
  • each book is $25.95 and will be signed
  • additional book details are here

the books are on sale now. yay!!

i have started with a small batch of them to see how they sell, but i will be ordering more, so if you are interested in a book and find they are sold out through etsy, please email me, or post a comment, to request one. i’ll include your order in my next shipment.

next on my list of self-published books… how to’s featuring some of my favorite techniques for scrapping, stamping and mixed media art. fun!

playing with the flip!
posted by: admin in odds n ends on 02 1st, 2008 | | 1 Comment »

ok… so i caved and bought a flip video camera. gotta say, i’m impressed with the quality of the digital video for such a reasonably priced geek-toy. plus, it’s damn cute! i got the white and orange ultra series 2gb version and really like it.

so you know, there will now be personal videos on the blog more frequently. i’m hoping to do some video demoes with stamping, scrapping and maybe even a bit of image transfer… but for now, you’ll just have to put up with my two favorite boys.

first up: kodiak [aka kodi, kodster, buffalonius, big head].
from the time this boy was a kitten, he has been obsessed with the fridge. he used to climb into it and lay on the crisper tray, if the door was open and if we’d let him. at 11 years old, things haven’t changed too much… he’s still the only cat i know that likes to be cold. in the middle of a cold winter, he prefers the cool downstairs studio to the warm living room and fireplace any day of the week. weird. but we still love him!

next up, terry, my star wars collecting, ebay buying, action fig collectible shopaholic husband:
an entire room in our house is slowly becoming a ‘toy store’ as gen’s 5 year old jaxon has pointed out, with many many many shelves lined with carded, bubbled action figures.

much of t’s collection has been about getting the vintage early 80’s figs and you know, he has almost all of them now… he’s indulged my hobbies for years, so if this is his worst vice/hobby [buying star wars stuff] then baby, go nuts. afterall, if we ever get strapped for cash we can always start selling them off!this is t after he opened his last ebay acquisition - yoda

g’nite all… i’m off to bed!
