what I’ve been doing this week…

I have had a super busy week! Here’s the nutshell of it…

  • three photo shoots scheduled in 5 days
  • meetings and meetings at the office
  • working on 3 freelance graphic design projects
  • starting to wrap my head around new artwork for Portobello West at the end of the month
  • creating silkscreens for borders and edge treatments to be used in my artwork
  • four 8km bike rides
  • lots of cooking including turkey chili, bbq chicken, baked ‘golden’ cauliflower, salsa, etc…
  • hot yoga twice
  • and more…

I have to share a couple of pics from my photoshoot at two Richmond pools yesterday. I think these turned out great [if I do say so myself LOL!] – what do you think?

In a side note: I am super pumped to be starting my Commercial Photography program on September 14 at Langara Community College. It’s one of the top photography programs in western Canada and I’m taking two courses per semester for the next 2 years to complete it. At the end of the program and after completing 16 units, I’ll apply for certification and hopefully my portfolio will show strongly enough that I achieve my goal of being a certified Commercial Photographer. So…

If you are looking to have any family portraits, kid shots, etc. while the weather is cooperative, give me a shout at lazarstudiowerx@telus.net and I’ll book you for my homework at NO CHARGE! Let me know… I’m going to need photography subjects I’m sure and having a variety of ‘victims’ would be tremendously helpful.

I’m also very excited about the upcoming Art Journal Fest in Port Townsend this October. It’s kinda a birthday present to me, from me. To take time off  and be doing this in the middle of a very hectic work schedule is a bit of a big deal, BUT you only turn 40 once! I figured a splurge on 3 artfilled days, with a bunch of arty folk, in a picturesque town about 2 hours away was a nice way for me to celebrate my big 4-0 LOL!

Lastly… I will have Granville Island pics tomorrow during my weekend update. Yes yes, they are from last weekend, but based on my recent week of busy-ness  I didn’t quite get to finishing the photo-editing LOL! Will deal with that monster and I’ll weed out the good from the bad this weekend.

Catch you on the flip side!
