monday morning eyecandy…

This was the page I finished last night [well 95% finished] at about 2am. I had to wait for the gesso to dry andthen write in the gessoed spot with my Copic 0.50 pen.  Here it is… I think it’s a favorite right now – so much rich colour and stenciled texturey goodness. Yum!

new artwork available!

i  have just completed my 2009 limited edition giclee calendars! i’m so excited that i had to share with you. the nitty gritty…

This 2009 Calendar features some of my favorite mixed media collages in an unusual 4×6 format. Each 2009 calendar is numbered and signed on the bellyband that wraps around your elegantly packaged set.

The 2009 calendar is limited to 50 reproductions only and will not be produced again. The first 10 will be listed on ETSY, with the remaining calendars available locally in Vancouver BC or through my website.

The design of the calendar is such that as each month changes, you simply crop off the dates and keep the beautifully printed limited edition artwork for framing or display on it’s own. Each calendar comes with a specially designed 4×6 photo frame CD case that allows you to easily display your calendar on a desk or end table. Here are some additional details:

  • 12 – 4×6 months
  • printed on 400gsm archival, museum quality watercolour paper
  • vivid, bright colouruniquely designed
  • limited to 50 numbered sets!

to purchase this calendar, visit my etsy site at www.studiowerx.etsy.com or visit me at portobello west in november. these calendars will be shipping in early november so purchase or reserve now.

new website for my artwork!

been working on this in the spare moments I have because it seems to be becoming a necessity to separate my lazar studiowerx biz from my personal artwork. so… here is the link for the new site: www.paperwerxings.com

the site is still under development and i will continue to chip away at it as time and my schedule allow. let me know what you think!

back on track…

after a 4 day migraine, things are finally getting back on track! it seems as if my lovely HOT days in vegas, in the dry, non-humid, constant climate environment left me a little ‘hung over’ and my sinuses freaked out being back in the damp and pollen-happy northwest lol… that and two lovely days of weather changes and the fact that the botox is wearing off all made for a tired, grumpy and headachy girl.

but ahhhhh… all is right again and i’m back in the groove. creating art and working on graphic design stuff for a few clients. i’m getting jiggy with it as they say and it feels good!

so… a few of you had emailed about getting a better view of a few of my new pieces [plus i have 8 more on the go for portobello west this sunday] so i thought i’d give you a better view of the lovelies that are being dropped off for stretching tomorrow…

I also have a couple of scrappy layouts/projects in my head at the moment, so that will be appearing soon too! think 6×12, panoramic landscapes with twinkly lights [hint hint!!]

new artwork!

in a mad frenzy to get a few pieces finished and off to my giclee printers in quebec, so i could have them back and stretched in-time for portobello west on august 31, i finished off 4 new pieces and thought i would give you a sneaky peek at these latest editions.

gotta say…. i love these. they are vibrant and soft at the same time [if that is possible!] and are going to be available as limited edition reproductions on canvas only. yum!

i’m off to land of casinos, pools and sweaty people [its 104F in las vegas!! holy $hit!] for a few much needed days of holiday with the hubs but thought i would leave you with a little eyecandy while i’m gone… i thought you might miss me a little and didn’t want you to be lonely ;^)

click on the thumbnail at the right and enjoy!

getting ready for portobello west…

hey all…

getting ready this week for my next portobello west show.

i’ve got a bunch of new pieces in the works and will be showing/selling 3 LARGE pieces plus a couple of my abstract acrylic paintings in addition to my mixed media collage portraits. the 1st big one is done and i’ve just about finished the 2nd one. i love it! no. 2 is very girly with butterflies and pink, silver, cream and dark green colour palette. it’s a great 18×36″ size and looks pretty darn nice if i say so myself =) i have it hanging in my studio downstairs and will miss it dreadfully if it sells this weekend. oh well… that IS the point isn’t it?

the monthly portobello west date is this coming sunday and will be running from 11am-6pm at the rocky mountain train station in vancouver [just off terminal blvd, between main street and clark drive - behind the home depot].

so, if you live in the vancouver area, please take a trip to portobello west on sunday may 25 for a shot of inspiration and an infusion of art and fashion. you won’t be disappointed. the merchandise for sale at this monthly event is outstanding quality and showcases vancouver’s up and coming fashion designers and emerging artists.

a little behind…

hey gang…

a number of you have ordered the calendared vinyl that kal used at inspired through us. we’ve had a slight delay and will not be shipping your orders until next week. the initial batch of product was flawed and they are sending me new product to cover the bad batch initially sent to me. i expect it in hand on monday or tuesday this coming week. so hang in there, it’s on it’s way…

also… i’ve not been able to get my other shipping out this past week as initially planned, due to a ridiculous work schedule. i normally ship on wednesday and take the 2 hours out of my day to ship orders through point roberts, washington. unfortunately i’ve been working on some major deadlines and wasn’t able to go earlier in the week as planned. then, and here’s the real kicker, my right eye has been pretty much swollen shut since thursday and i can’t drive. nice.

i have this chronic eye condition called blepharitis which affects my upper eyelids. it is extremely uncomfortable and adversely affects my vision due to major eyelid swelling. it’s caused by stress and man, have i had a lot of that in the last 7 days!  i know i know… more information than you wanted to know, but i did want you to know that if you’re waiting on an order, it’s ready to go. the main delay is that the eye condition affects my depth perception and i just can’t drive safely at the moment. once i get this flare up in my eye sorted out, i’ll be well enough for the 2 hour round trip drive into the usa.

so thanks for your patience… i appreciate it! hang in there, your orders are coming out just as soon as I can get across the border. thanks!
